The Ave — Privacy Policy

The policy of Inside Outlier, in regards to the app The Ave, is to respect the privacy of all users to the extent permitted by law. This privacy statement is intended to inform you of the ways in which The Ave collects information, the uses to which that information will be put, and the ways in which we will protect any information you choose to provide us.

Integration With Facebook

The Ave uses Facebook login in order to create a unique account that the user can then save her favorite places with. This is in part a fraud deterrent but is mostly for the purposes of creating a great user experience. At this point in time we do not post to the user's Facebook wall. We do however reserve the right to introduce that capability and more in the future. We will not post anything to the user's Facebook without her explicit permission.

By allowing the use of Facebook you are also allowing The Ave to collect certain information from your Facebook profile. Understand that we have very little access. More access requires special permissions that you would be prompted with, we have no need for more than the default information. Please inform yourself about the information available to developers, both for the use of this app and for that of others. From Facebook itself,

"When a user allows you to access their basic information in an auth dialog, you have access to their user id, name, profile picture, gender, age range, locale, networks, user ID, list of friends, and any other information they have made public. To get access to any additional information about the user or their friends you need to ask for specific permissions from the user."

You can find more information about what access we have and more importantly to understand the majority that we don't have access to at Facebook Developer Permissions.

Uses

Inside Outlier uses the information we have in order to help us better understand the usage of The Ave in regards to how many users we have, what places are viewed the most, and a whole world more of statistical analysis. In each analysis we perform, the user is kept anonymous. We do not share any information that compromises the user's anonymity. We do however hold the right to share anonymous information with advertisers and any other third-parties. Also note, our only way to identify a user is when you login to The Ave.
